Don’t wait until your puppy is 6+ months old or until they need a groom.
As soon as your puppy has had all their vaccinations (around 14 weeks) book them in for some desensitisation sessions every 2/3 weeks so that your groomer can work with your puppy and get them used to all the different sights and sounds of a grooming salon. That way we can build up to a full groom.
If you wait until your puppy needs to be groomed then there is a high chance they will find the experience stressful and scary as a full groom is a lot for a dog to go through with no previous experience.
Puppy appointments with me start from just £25 so please get in touch and if you would like to discuss your puppy and their grooming requirements.

Welcome to our puppy grooming salon, where your little one’s comfort and happiness are our top priorities. Our specialized puppy grooming sessions are designed to introduce your pup to the grooming process in a gentle and enjoyable way. Here’s what you can expect during your puppy’s first grooming appointment:
The first step of the appointment is all about your puppy exploring the sights and smells of the salon. We understand that this is a new environment for them, so we allow plenty of time for your pup to get comfortable.
After your puppy has had a chance to explore, we introduce them to the grooming equipment. We run the shower for a while and turn on the clippers with no blade, so they can get used to the sounds and smells. Your puppy will have the opportunity to sniff all the equipment, helping them feel more at ease.
Next, we gently place your puppy on the grooming table for a couple of minutes. During this time, we use lots of treats as rewards to make the experience positive and fun. We begin by trimming their hygiene areas to ensure they stay clean when they go to the toilet. We also trim a small amount around their eyes to improve their visibility and give them a good brushing all over.
Once the grooming tasks are completed, it’s back to the floor for a little playtime and a drink. This helps to relax your puppy and ensures they leave the salon happy and stress-free.
After some fun and hydration, it’s time for your puppy to go home. Our goal is to make sure they have a pleasant and positive experience, setting the foundation for a lifetime of stress-free grooming sessions.

I’ve been bringing Archie to have his hair cut for a while now and he always comes out look lovely. Archie isn’t the easiest dog to groom as he can be a tricky boy. He has parts of his body he’s not keen on being groomed but they work with him and take their time working at his pace. When I pick him up they talk to me about how he’s been and we are working on ways to make having his hair cut less difficult. I would definitely recommend this groomer to any of my friends, the lady that does Archie is so lovely and caring and very patient towards Archie.

Abi always provides a lovely grooming experience for Muffin (a fairly nervous cockapoo) she cuts her curly coat really well and manages to get all her ear tangles out and trims her nails perfectly. Muffin always looks so good when I pick her up and happy too. I would definitely recommend Pooch Trims & Treats.
